The Clock is ticking

The Canada Revenue Agency filing deadline comes at midnight tonight.

Despite appeals from several quarters, the Agency has said there will be no extension of the deadline.  Last year it was pushed out an extra month as COVID 19 restrictions took hold.

That’s particularly important if you are among the people who owe money this year.  The impact of CERB, and other COVID benefits has been widespread.  Filing on time, even if you can’t pay up right away will avoid a late filing penalty.

It’s a similar situation if you don’t have all your information.  Filing on time, if nothing else, allows the process to move forward.  If necessary you can always file an adjustment later on.

We encourage you to file on time, but if that is a challenge, remember you can still use our software to file your taxes after the deadline.   And, the sooner, the better.
